I can’t stop taking pictures.

This is fine, and safe, in most cases -

i’m typically a passenger in any form of transportation, but it can make things complicated when i’m behind the wheel of a large automobile, driving exactly the speed limit, and something slaps the button labeled, “photo!” in my brain. i’ll leave it to your imagination which of these were taken while i was driving - All i can say is thank goodness for autofocus and the automatic setting on all the cameras i’ve owned throughout the years.

while the photos here often have elements that would befit an urban or pastoral setting, neither label feels entirely sufficient. There’s almost always some creep of the pastoral into the urban, and vice versa. in that way, this group of work explores themes similar to those in window or aisle - the way travel changes perspective. everyday spaces which, through the common practice of travel, become uncommon, liminal spaces.
